WHAT WE DO

People often ask, “What does BCA do?” Many of our undertakings since 2006 remain unseen. The reason: BCA exists primarily to support and facilitate the community interests of its residents.

Some of that assistance comes by way of BCA’s role as a fiscal agent. As a fully-registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, BCA can apply for grants on behalf of other entities. For example, many of the grants to the Boulder Arts Council in the past were actually administered through BCA as the fiscal agent. Likewise, individuals who want to donate to specific activities, such as the Library or the recycling effort, can direct charitable, deductible contributions to those activities via checks written to Boulder Community Alliance.

LOCAL PROJECTS

Our local community-oriented projects can be summed up in three words: Educate, Communicate, Facilitate.

We are strong supporters of our local school, Boulder Elementary. Serving only grades K-6, this little school provides the perfect opportunity for close interaction among kids, residents, and the local environment.

PROJECT SUPPORT
BCA has helped give wings to several community-oriented projects over the past several years. The really successful ones result from individuals who have great ideas and who are willing to step up to lead the effort. Examples of these are:

• Benevolence Fund
• Boulder Arts Council
• Adopt-A-Highway
• Friends of the Boulder Community Library
• Hospice
• Oral History Project
• Community Communications Group

We regard Boulder Community Alliance as just that–an alliance. An alliance made up of community-oriented individuals who are committed to cultivating a vibrant, sustainable community. What projects or activities would you like to see added to this list? How can we help you attain your vision? The ideas, the energy, the commitment come from individuals. Where our mission and an individual’s vision intersect–that’s the makings for a beautiful, successful endeavor that will benefit the community for years to come.

The BCA Board would like to thank the folks who made it out on May 6, 2017 for the Historic Town Photo. We could not have done it without help from Garkane and the use of their lift truck, the enticing treats from the Biglers, refreshing drinks from Hell’s Backbone Grill, and of course the humor and experience of the fabulous Ace Kvale!
