Model Rocket Workshop

Building/Launching Location: Boulder Town Park 
(Inclement Weather Location: Boulder Community Center)

Rocket Building Start Time: anytime between 2–3:30 pm

Kids ages 1 to 100, join us on Friday, August 23, 2019, to construct a rocket! Space is limited to 50 participants, so sign up soon! Parents, please plan on accompanying your child(ren) under 13 to assist with construction and launching. (You can build/launch one too!)

Kits are priced at $2 for the small rocket with the option of upgrading to a medium or large rocket for an additional fee. Extra motors will be available at a nominal price. (Thank you to Boulder Mountain Lodge for sponsoring the model rocket kits!)

Evening Under the Stars

Hosted by the Boulder Mountain Guest Ranch, Garfield County School District Stem program & the Boulder Community Alliance
Location: Event Center at Boulder Mountain Guest Ranch
Parking: Please carpool and leave pets happy at home. Parking will be tight and so plan on parking at the corrals in an efficient way! Once you walk to the main lodge parking lot, head south down the path towards the beaver ponds! (Take a pre-event stroll to check out the waterfall and beavers too!)
What to Bring?: Water bottle, layers for staying cozy, and your curiosity!

6:30 pm – Doors open! Door Prizes, Raffle, Silent Auction, Light Fare & Cash Bar 

7:30 pm – “The Distance Ladder” Presentation: Ascend to the edge of the universe and along the way learn the science and math behind humanity’s multi-millenium quest to answer “How far away is that?”

8:15 pm – Silent Auction Closes

8 pm – Laser Constellation Tour

9–11 pm Telescope viewing through 4 gigantic telescopes!
